Signature Finish Group Camberwell

Insurance repairs,
done to the scope.

Painting for insurance builders, claims managers and loss adjusters across Melbourne. Itemised scopes, photo reports, and a finish the homeowner is happy to sign off.

Why it matters

The painter is
the last trade in.

On most claims, painting is the last trade through the door, and the one the homeowner judges the whole repair by.

A plaster patch that flashes through the paint, or a ceiling stain that bleeds back three weeks later, turns a closed claim into a complaint and a second visit. Most of that comes down to preparation that does not show on the day: stain-blocking before painting, feathering a patch properly, and matching an existing colour rather than getting close.

We are a small Camberwell crew, and every job is done by our own people. That makes us easy to deal with: one contact, a scope you can check line by line, and photos at the end that close the file.

Types of work

What we
repair.

Water damage

The most common claim we see. Ceiling and wall staining from roof leaks, burst pipes and failed showers. Stains are sealed with a stain-blocking primer first; painted straight over, water marks bleed back through within weeks.

Fire and smoke

Smoke residue and odour are sealed before any finish coat, or the smell comes back on the first warm day. Soot is cleaned off properly rather than painted over.

Storm and impact

Making good after fallen trees, hail and vehicle impact, once the building trades have finished the structural repair.

Make-good after plaster

The plasterer replaces the board; we finish it. Patches are feathered, sealed and painted so the repair disappears rather than flashing through the new coat.

Mould, after treatment

Repainting once mould has been treated and the moisture source fixed by others. We use mould-resistant products in wet areas, and we will say so if the cause has not been dealt with.

Colour matching

Matching an existing finish so a repaired area does not read as a patch. Where a match cannot be achieved, we paint to a natural break, such as a full wall or ceiling, and note it in the scope.

How a job runs

From allocation
to sign-off.

01

Allocation

You send the job. We acknowledge it within one business day and arrange access with the occupant directly.

02

Inspection and scope

We attend, photograph the damage, and return an itemised scope: each area, the work, the product and the cost. Anything that is not insured damage is listed separately so it can be priced to the owner.

03

Works

Our own tradespeople, no subcontractors. Occupied homes are worked room by room, with protection laid and the site cleaned daily.

04

Completion

Before and after photographs, a signed-off scope and an invoice in the format you need. Leftover paint is labelled and left with the owner.
