Scaffold as standard
Two and three storey elevations are not ladder work. Scaffold is quoted from the start rather than added once we are on site.
Large period houses on large blocks. Tall elevations, mature gardens in the way, and interior detail that shows every shortcut.
Kew
Kew houses are big, and that changes the work more than people expect. Two and three storey elevations, tall double-hung sash windows, deep eaves, slate or terracotta roofs. Very little of it can be reached safely from a ladder, so most exterior work here is a scaffold job from the outset.
Established gardens are the other complication. Mature trees and hedges tight against the house mean scaffold has to be threaded rather than run in a straight line, and it means protecting planting that took forty years to get that way. We sheet and protect gardens as a matter of course.
Inside, the expectation is different again. Panelled halls, deep skirtings, moulded architraves and ceiling roses reward a proper finish and punish a rushed one, because the light rakes sideways across them. On that sort of detail the filling and sanding is the job, and the paint is nearly the easy part.
On these houses

Two and three storey elevations are not ladder work. Scaffold is quoted from the start rather than added once we are on site.
02
Mature planting gets sheeted and protected. Replacing a forty-year-old hedge is not a line item anyone wants to discuss.
03
Deep skirtings, panelling and ceiling roses show every flaw under side light. The filling and sanding decides the result.
What we do here
Victorian, Edwardian and Federation homes. Lead-safe preparation, period-appropriate colour, and the slow detail work that stock demands.
Panelling, joinery, specialist finishes and full repaints. Minimum three coats, and the preparation that makes three coats worth applying.
Render, weatherboard, brick and trim, specified for a Melbourne year rather than for a Melbourne week.
Retail, offices and common property. Staged around trading hours and left clean at the end of every shift.
